Gavin officially turned 1 on the 18th, and we celebrated with a birthday party Sunday night with both sides of our family. As some of you know our families have really been struggling with some MAJOR health issues, so it was really awesome that everyone was able to attend (except for one of Mike's nephews who's off at college).
Hitting the big 1 year mark has really been a time of reflection for me about how fragile life is and how often healthy, full term babies are taken for granted. Gavin has come so far from the tiny 3 lbs. miracle where he started; this point has been hit home even further learning that some acquaintances of ours had to say goodbye to their precious premature twins girls over the last few days.
On that note... my brother-in-law, Tom, has been ending the updates that he's had to post saying, "hug someone you love"!
